It became known that this year the second Metaverse music festival will be held in Decentraland. Since many tours in real life were canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic, such famous personalities as Ozzy Osbourne, Dillon Francis, rapper Soulja Boy and others turned their eyes to virtual worlds. The event will be held from November 10 to 13, 2022, and will be attended by more than 100 artists on 15 stages. The event will be free and it will not require a cryptocurrency wallet.
The action will take place in the cyberpunk city of the future. Dillon Francis will open the festival with a "mega club" experience projected on several screens, and hip-hop artist Soulja Boy will perform using his new virtual avatar.
The creative director of Decentraland Foundation Sam Hamilton assured: "the event will be very cool and interesting".
Despite the fact that the action will take place in digital reality, the development team will recreate the weather conditions and other real festival experience, complemented by non-standard dance moves, emotions, nightclubs and more.
The choice of performers who will perform on most stages was given to members of the Decentraland community. As a result, Chinese idol group SNH48 and Japanese J-pop Atarashii Gakko will also appear at the event. Hamilton assured that this festival will not focus only on American performers. It is important to give users a new cultural experience.
He recalled that last year more than 50,000 people attended the event, and Deadmau5, 3LAU, RAC and Alison Wonderland performed on stage.
