Bitcoin rose by 7% and updated a three-week high


The cost of the first cryptocurrency rose to $22.5 thousand. Against the background of a sharp rise, traders lost more than $ 260 million in a day.

On the night of July 8, the bitcoin exchange rate reached $22.5 thousand for the first time since June 16. As of 9:50 Moscow time, the first cryptocurrency is trading at $ 21.7 thousand, over the past day it has risen in price by 7%. The capitalization of the asset again exceeded $415 billion with daily trading volumes of $24 billion, according to CoinGecko.

As a result of the sharp rise in the cryptocurrency exchange rate, traders suffered multimillion-dollar losses. During the day, margin positions of 57.6 thousand traders were liquidated for a total amount of over $260 million, according to Coinglass.

The largest liquidation occurred in a pair with bitcoin on the Huobi crypto exchange. The trader lost $3.68 million for one transaction.
