DeFi investment platform Bitlocus and cryptocurrency banking company Striga have announced the joint introduction of a debit card that can be used to make digital payments.

Cryptocurrency cards will make it possible to pay for goods at more than 70 million retail outlets worldwide. These cards can be used both online and at standard point-of-sale terminals.

The main advantage is the ability to withdraw money from ATMs. Both physical and virtual cards are offered with special privileges for Bitlocus customers, such as paying with any tokens without further conversion via branded cards.

Andrius Normantas, Bitlocus CEO, states:

"This card is the perfect complement to the financial products of our business. As the use of digital currencies becomes more common in today's society, our team is doing everything we can to improve efficiency for our customers."

Bernardo Magnani, head of Striga, also expressed his thoughts:

"The partnership with Bitlocus was a big leap forward for our company. We took advantage of both our previous experience in creating cryptocurrency cards and created an innovative new product."

Striga had previously marketed Lastbit, a cryptocurrency card programme.

Cryptocurrency startup Nexo recently announced the launch of its own plastic card designed to store digital assets, and struck a deal with vendor Mastercard to help it roll out the product.
