Australian mining company Iris Energy recently announced that its hashrate has almost tripled. This was done through the purchase of 44 000 new ASIC miners.

The company said in a press release that their current hash rate is 5.5 EH/s compared to the previous 2 EH/s.

Bitmain Antminer S19j Pro devices have been chosen by businesses to improve their productivity. Each of these machines can produce up to 100 TH/s and Iris Energy has bought a total of around 44 000 of these machines.

Daniel Roberts, CEO of Iris Energy, described the purchase as an " important milestone" due to the difficult situation in the cryptocurrency market.

Iris Energy said the new data centres would be located in the company's centres, but did not explain where. The company has three facilities located in different locations in British Columbia, Canada, plus one located in Texas,USA.

Unfortunately, two other subsidiaries owned by Iris Energy had to declare technical default last autumn because they were unable to fulfil financial obligations of up to $103 million.
