Cryptocurrency wallet Metamask recently launched a cryptocurrency buying function in Portfolio Dapp that allows users to buy cryptocurrency for fiat currency.
After connecting the wallet to the decentralised app and selecting the Buy tab, people from 189 countries can use various payment methods such as credit/debit cards, PayPal, bank transfer or ACH.
The option includes over 90 tokens from 8 different networks (Ethereum, Polygon, Optimism, Arbitrum, BNB Chain, Avalanche, Fantom and Celo), but KYC rules may affect order amounts in some regions.
This project became possible due to a number of partnerships with providers such as: PayPal; MoonPay; Sardine; Banxa; Onramp.money; Mercuryo; Transak.
OpenSea and Blockaid have also joined forces with MetaMask to implement a fraud warning system to provide additional security in the future.
