The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) has announced its intention to replace the existing vehicle accounting system.
Ajay Gupta, representative of the Department, said that they are currently testing Tezos blockchain technology to digitise cars. They have also engaged Oxhead Alpha (a software developer) to create a "shadow registry" based on the same blockchain.
The launch of this new system is expected soon, and they even plan to release applications for exchanging NFT tokens through digital wallets managed by DMV as an intermediary to oversee the transactions.
This happened shortly after the US authorities published their roadmap for regulating cryptocurrencies.
