Twitter developers have added a feature that displays price charts of the most popular cryptocurrencies according to the relevant search queries.
One of many product improvements coming to financial Twitter!
Nice work by Twitter team. — Elon Musk (@elonmusk) December 22, 2022
Users can write the name or ticker of a digital asset in the search tab.
Support for other cryptocurrencies, including Dogecoin, was not implemented at the time of writing. The team promised to expand coverage "in the coming weeks."
The initiative develops so-called $Cashtags — combinations of the $ icon and name ticker of a public company or ETF. In response to such a search query, the platform will reflect a graph and a link to Robinhood, where you can get summary information on the asset. The parties did not disclose details of possible cooperation.
Elon Musk promised additional improvements with a focus on finance.
Earlier, the owner and CEO of the social platform shared slides of the presentation of the Twitter 2.0 update, which generated expectations on the topic of cryptocurrency integration.
The billionaire made a corresponding proposal back in April.
Recall that at the beginning of 2022, the social network integrated the ability to add NFT as profile avatars. The option was available on iOS to Twitter Blue subscribers after linking an Ethereum wallet to a social network account.
In September 2021, Twitter announced a verification system for non-fungible tokens.
