Bitso, Latin America's leading cryptocurrency exchange, has announced a partnership with Mastercard to introduce a debit card in Mexico. The card can be used anywhere Mastercard payments are accepted.
Bitso subsequently became part of the partnerships Mastercard has with cryptocurrency companies in Latin America, including Binance, Belo and Buenbit.
Bitso announced on Twitter that it is ready to provide debit cards for cryptocurrency payments to 100,000 residents in Mexico. This happened after the successful completion of a testing phase. Furthermore, the exchange operates in Mexico, Argentina, Brazil and Colombia with more than 6 million customers and 1,500 corporate clients.
Earlier, Bitso introduced its QR payment system, giving foreign visitors to Argentina the opportunity to purchase goods and services with digital currencies without resorting to outside exchange offices.In September 2022, Bitso enabled its Argentine customers to make QR code payments using Argentine pesos, digital dollars, bitcoins, Ethereum and DAI. The exchange said that numerous supermarkets, cafes and shops in Argentina will be equipped with the payment system.
