TikTok is the fastest growing social media platform of 2022, but the former head of its gaming division believes his startup Meta0. can also be successful.
On July 5, Jason Fang, the former head of TikTok's gaming division, announced that he had left TikTok to launch Meta0, a blockchain video game startup.
Fung pointed out that he had a comfortable life with TikTok, but by running Meta0, he has a gigantic risk.
The idea of Meta0 is to provide more interoperability between existing blockchain networks so that developers do not have to choose only a small group of blockchains to implement their projects.
“Right now, if you look at any developer when they implement NFT or blockchain into their games, theyф have to choose one blockchain, be it Polygon, Solana or Binance Smart Chain. But imagine a more compatible option.”
In another interview, Fung said he left TikTok to highlight one of the most common issues in the NFT gaming industry: the lack of a properly accessible blockchain infrastructure for developers.
Like many startups in the cryptocurrency world, Meta0 will raise funds by issuing tokens and negotiating with venture capitalists and strategic investors. As you can see, the interest in blockchain games has slightly decreased due to the collapse of the crypto market, but the community is still active and eager to find a new project to invest in their favorite video games again.
Crypto games have not only attracted money from large institutional players, but also facilitated their adoption by retail users around the world.
