NFT marketplace KnownOrigin created an opportunity to earn royalties from sales

Bookmarks

eBay, a US company providing services in the areas of online auctions and online shopping, has enabled royalties from sales by launching a trading platform for NFTs. The developers of KnownOrigin, an NFT marketplace, have announced on Twitter that digital artists are now able to receive royalties from secondary sales of their digital collections.

From February 24, verified users can receive payouts by deploying their own smart contract on KnownOrigin. This is possible thanks to the Creator Contracts function and does not require knowledge of the Solidity programming language. But how much royalty the artists will receive has not yet been reported.

Online auctioneer Ebay acquired KnownOrigin in the summer of 2022, but the amount and other details of the deal were not disclosed. There were rumours last May that the retailer was preparing its own NFT collection, but there has been no official release yet.
